Dauntless Hero is one to note

DAUNTLESS HERO, for whom a $400 penalty was paid to race in the feature Group 2 Santa Rosa Dash on Saturday next week at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, showed it could be money well spent. Seemingly relishing the sloppy underfoot conditions, Dereck Joseph’s four-year-old American-bred chestnut colt looked very fiery on Thursday morning as he skipped over 1000 metres in the splendid time of 1:02.1 seconds. This son of Diligence/Treasure Always trained by Rohit Dube could be a live outsider in the 1200 metres race in which Sugar Mike holds the engagement.

Trainer Grant Lourenco has been taking things very easily with the sweet one, after his victory on Indian Arrival Day in the Eric “Colt” Durant Memorial Handicap over 1750 metres. Sugar Mike was seen out pacing over 400 metres in 28.4 seconds looking very full of himself. Also showing plenty life in her run was Golden Honour, a disappointment in her last outing. This speedster galloped over 1000 metres in the impressive time of 1:03.3 seconds and must be kept on the right side. Although only pacing, Tactical Bid looked really well in an 1600 metres gallop. The vastly imnproved Aticka, a comprehensive winner on Indian Arrival Day in only her second start, also looked refreshed while pacing 1000 metres in 1:11.2 seconds effortlessly.
