Fighter Springer turns kick-boxer

FRESH off a stunning gold medal performance in the senior lightweight division for Trinidad and Tobago at the 20th Caribbean Amateur Boxing Association (CABA) Championships, Michael Springer will seek to exhibit his kickboxing prowess against Surinamer Luciano Derby in a highly anticipated bout as Caribbean Sports Promotions presents “Night of the Titans” at the Central Regional Indoor Sport Arena, Chaguanas, tonight. Sanctioned by the World Kickboxing Association (WKA) Trinidad and Tobago the evening promises wall to wall action in eight bouts between Trinidad and Tobago’s best talent and fighters from Suriname and Curacao.

Donald Snaggs will take on Edwin Graham of Suriname for the WKA Pan American Middleweight, 154-159, title, CABA silver medallist Richard Boodram will hope to do better in his defence of home ground when he meets Suriname’s Vincent Durham in a WKA Amateur Lightweight title fight. Prince Lee Isadore another CABA silver medallist will fight Alain Ramkissoon of Curacao for the WKA Amateur Caribbean Featherweight title and Nick Boodram a gold medallist at CABA will meet a yet to be determined foreign fighter for the WKA Super Lightweight title. In other fights David Martin takes on Suriname’s Rodney Belfour, Roger Baptiste will face Regillio Bodie also of Suriname Kenneth “Iron Man” Bishop faces Surinamese fighter Ditriech Boldewijn.
