Krug Champagne hits the spot

Some things in life are worth waiting for. And when at last they come to fruition, one is amply rewarded for the long years of patience with the sheer perfection of the result. Krug 1990 Champagne is one such thing. Kept back for fourteen years in the Krug cellars in Reims, this exceptional vintage was finally released for the first time in the Caribbean by A S Brydens & Sons (Trinidad) Ltd at Joseph’s Restaurant in Maraval.

On hand for its unveiling was Gilles Veluzat, the Caribbean Market Manager of Krug Champagne, who gave an insight to the experience that is Krug 1990. He described it as “Champagne that is explosive and exciting, intense and contrasting, yet always exquisitely balanced.” After delighting in Krug 1990, guests continued to indulge their passion for champagne with Krug Brand Cuvee Champagne, but the memory of 1990 lingered on, forcing one guests to exclaim “Krug 1990 is the supreme expression of an exceptional vintage . . . it’s a revelation.”
