Coast Guard get first EFA point
NEWCOMERS Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard earned their first point in the Emerald Plaza & Apartments-sponsored Eastern Football Association when they held Delta Glass Young Hearts to a 3-3 draw at Boundary Road. Francis Perouza netted a double for Young Hearts in Wednesday’s game and Devon Derick got the other goal, only for Andron Warwick, Dwayne Alzola and Kevon Smith to strike back for the Coast Guardmen. TSTT journeyed to the St Joseph ground of WASA and held WASA Clean & White 1-1 with Gailon Thomas scoring for the home team and Kwesi Thomas getting the telecommunication men goal.
Also in winner’s row on Wednesday were East/West Coaching School who eked out a 3-2 result over Malta Carib Alcons at Five Rivers ground. Allan Thomas, Ronnie Charles and Joel Razack got the goals for the Coaching School, while Darryl Roberts netted both for Alcons. Falcon Crest whipped Joe Public 3-1 on goals by Lester Richards, Mario Reyes and Jesus David at St Joseph Recreation ground. Ravi Gayasingh got the lone goal for the “Eastern Lions.” And BM Spurs and Athletico Sports Institute played to a 1-1 tie at San Juan Secondary School ground.
Hayden Jones got the goal for Spurs, while Patrick Toussaint scored for Athletico. On Sunday, WASA Clean & White meet Delta Glass Young Hearts at WASA ground; Athletico Sports Institute play East/West Coaching School at Aranguez Savannah; T&T Coast Guard take on Falcon Crest at Larry Gomes Stadium; and Malta Carib Alcons face HCL Strikers at Maracas St Joseph ground. TSTT and BM Spurs square off at St Augustine Secondary School ground on Tuesday. Games kick off at 4.15 pm.
