Invincibility ready for Sugar Mike again

INVINCIBILITY, winner of the Santa Rosa Dash three weeks ago, showed he has kept his form well with a good gallop over 400 metres at Santa Rosa Park, Arima. And Junior Sammy’s American-bred colt who lowered the colours of champion Sugar Mike in the “Dash,” appeared to relish the sloppy track on Sunday morning in posting a time of 23.58 seconds for the gallop. But the best time of the day over this trip was produced by Francesca who was clocked in 22.87 seconds. Honor Bound, a surprise winner last time out also showed some sparkle in stopping the clock at 23.19 seconds.

Twice The Jet showed her heels in an 800 metres gallop completed in 35.31 seconds, while Dare To Dream and V For Victory went over the same trip in 36.70 seconds. And Alert The Ship was timed in 36.80 seconds. Best run over 1000 metres on Sunday was recorded by This Cat Is Back who was timed in 1:03.12 seconds. But other good times were posted by Golden Honour 1:03.77 seconds, Bandikoot 1:03.56 seconds, while Silver Bullet and Final Set working in tandem clocked 1:04.98 seconds. On Monday, and again yesterday, trainers took things very easy with their charges, electing to do only pace work in most cases. But Top Of The Class who will challenge both Sugar Mike and Invincibility in the feature Stakes and Lower Handicap over 1750 metres, looked very sharp in an 800 metres run in 46.84 seconds. And Not This Time continued to show he is on the improve, skipping along the course in 1:02.21 seconds for a 1000 metres gallop.
