Warner hat-trick as Crabs lock out Carib 5-1
MARLON WARNER registered a hattrick as L-Sporto Crab Connection hammered Carib 5-1 in the National Super League on Tuesday, at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima. Warner scored in the 52nd, 89th and 90th minutes while Kirston Graham (17th) and Marvin Joseph (78th) chipped in with one apiece for the Crabs. Billy Dee Scantlebury netted the lone strike for Carib in the 65th. The “Eastern Lions” Joe Public had their lead trimmed to four points after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Maraval Youth Academy at the Trinity College Grounds, Moka. Ellis Dyett put Joe Public in front after nine minutes before Dustin Felician equalised for the hosts in the 32nd.
Police maintained their third spot on the 14-team table with a 2-1 win over Superstar Rangers at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo. Richard De Coteau (31st) and Garfield Ambrose (42nd) were on target for the lawmen while Jason Charles (65th) scored for Rangers. And WASA Clean and White dropped to fourth on the standings after they lost 3-1 to Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix at WASA Ground, St Joseph. Kenyon Manswell opened the scoring for Phoenix in the 54th while Makesi Jackson doubled the lead in the 56th. Trevor Henry got the third goal for the Tobagonians in the 70th before former national midfielder Anthony Dhanoolal netted WASA’s consolation in the 76th.
