Ball and Books football at Malabar

The inaugural Sports and Games Balls and Books Youth Soccer Festival kicks off  today at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima. It is the first stage of  “a football development initiative which aims to forge a connection between academics and sports” according to a release from organisers. Among the teams expected to compete are the St Anthony’s College “Tigers,” the “Dial Dynamos” of Arima Senior Comprehensive, St Augustine’s “Green Machine,” the “Blue Thunder” El Dorado Senior Comprehensive, Malick Senior Secondary, St George’s College, Presentation College Chaguanas and Valencia Senior Comprehensive. The festival begins at 9 am and continues till 7 pm.
