Burglar shot at FPA

AN intruder was shot while breaking into the Family Planning Association (FPA) on Henry Street, Port-of-Spain Tuesday night. According to reports, a security officer attached to Am Force Security Services responded to a noise at the front of the building at around 8.30 pm, where he confronted the intruder, who immediately attacked the security officer. The officer drew his service revolver and shot the man in his right arm. The bleeding intruder was taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, where he was treated for a superficial wound. The 39-year-old man of Dundonald Street, Port-of-Spain was taken to the Criminal Investigation Department and charged with breaking and entering. He will appear before a Port-of-Spain magistrate today. Meanwhile, police are trying to determine what the man was hoping to get since the only items with any value at the FPA are condoms.
