Dauntless Hero sizzles at gallops

DAUNTLESS HERO who won many admirers with his good showing in the Santa Rosa Dash Handicap last month, showed he will be a major factor over the shorter distances this season with another blinding display of speed on the exercise course at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, yesterday. The son of Diligence/Treasure Always who in his third start since arriving from America found Invincibility just too good but finished ahead of champion Sugar Mike, zipped through the last 400 metres of  his spin in 22.78 seconds. Flying Millie is one to keep on the shortlist. This unraced daughter of Flying Mal attached to trainer Jack Debideen’s stable showed ability with a 23.16 clocking out of the boxes.

Le Fabuleux Dansur has shown up well on the gallops but has not transformed his exercise form to his races. But the American-bred four-year-old continued in the same vein on Thursday morning with a comfortable  37.38 seconds timing for his solo run over 600 metres. Seductive, El Guerrouj and Born To Charm took the honours on Wednesday, a  morning which saw the demise of Mystile who dropped dead in the backstretch after completing her exercise over 600 metres in 43.49 seconds. Seductive showed her well-being over 400 metres in 24.80 seconds, El Guerrouj showed life over 1000 metres in 1:03.91 seconds, and Born To Charm appeared to be rounding back to her best covering the last 1200 metres of the course in 1:19.04 seconds.
