Cable still blanking tennis

THE EDITOR: Once again the sporting public (particularly tennis supporters) is being shabbily treated by CCTT with the blocking out of tennis (only) coverage on ESPN2. It began with Wimbledon, which could have been due to the non-payment for the rights to cover this Grand Slam event. Now it appears that any tennis tournament is being blocked on ESPN2 by our local cable company while all other sporting events are being shown - football, baseball, lacrosse, poker, billiards, auto racing, fishing, motorcycle racing, etc. Why only tennis coverage is being targetted?

After much delay by phone contact, the Cable Company gives the reason that ESPN does not have the rights to show in the Caribbean, yet people in the same Caribbean with their own dishes are viewing the same coverage that CCTT blocks out and only tennis. I have written the Cable Company for an explanation and anxiously await their reply, as this is another example of the paying public being held to ransom by CCTT.
