No crime must go unpunished
THE EDITOR: Let us be honest with ourselves and stop being hypocrites. crime is crime. Small crime, big crime, blue collar, white collar, crime is crime. Like the ads say “Let’s take the me out of crime.” Truly, if we are to solve the crime situation, it is compulsory that we identify all crime and make every earnest effort to stop it. In this battle there is no difference because of political affiliations, business interest or banking interest. You cannot condone a big crime because one knows the offender and punish the small crime because the offender lives in another area and belong to a different group. Crime is crime and would only be erased when we stop being hypocrites and stand up. Abortion is a crime. It is the killing of a living human being. That is fact. It is a gruesome act because the baby feels pain and is not given any anesthetic before being ripped apart. At this time to provide an abortion is a criminal act and there are many who know the doctors who carry out this procedure and refuse to speak out yet complain about other crimes. To make matters worse, they wish to have this criminal act legalised to protect the criminals in this case.
Incest is a hideous crime; abuse of minors under 15 years is an outrageous crime yet there are those who insist that we protect the perpetrators of these crimes. I say that they wish to protect them because the proposed abortion bill is asking that minors be allowed to have an abortion without notification to their parents. That will allow any perpetrator to take the victim to have an abortion and no one is the wiser and the criminal goes free to repeat the offence. It is noted that if not treated properly the victim will become an abuser later on; if not reported the cycle will continue. Therefore to stop this crime it should be legislated that each and every medical practitioner/institution report to the authorities immediately any minor presenting themselves for such operation. Crime is Crime. The individuals who drafted the bill trumpet the freedom of choice and want this killing to take place throughout all nine months of gestation. Yet these very same people want any doctor who refuses to do this heinous act to be fined/imprisoned. So these doctors have no choice. We now see that there is no absolute freedom. To say yes to abortion is to say yes to crime.
