Connection, Jabloteh stay ahead in U-20s
W CONNECTION and CL Financial San Juan Jabloteh maintained a huge gap with the chasing pack after Round 11 action of the T&T Pro League Under-20 Division on Thursday. Both teams are locked on 27 points with Connection holding the slight edge on goal difference. The “Savonetta lads” cruised past Tobago United 3-1 at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva while Jabloteh trounced Arima/Morvant Fire 4-1 at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima. Gorean Highley was a one-man show for Connection, netting a hat-trick in the 45th, 50th and 86th minutes while Noel Williams got the lone item for the Tobagonians in the 65th.
Jabloteh’s goals were shared between Andre Alexis (7th), Brendon Christopher (45th), Jerol Forbes (65th) and Rennie Britto (90th), with Abiola Sandy finding the mark for Fire in the 30th. South West Drillers registered their first win of the season — 2-1 over North East Stars at the Sangre Grande Recreation Ground. Daniel Garcia opened the scoring for Drillers in the third minute with Kern Peters doubling the advantage in the 50th. Kendall Jagdeosingh pulled a goal back for North East in the 51st but it was a little too late for the hosts. And, in the day’s other matchup, Defence Force were held to a 2-2 draw by Starworld Strikers at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella.
