Team named for Goodwill splash

A 40-member national swim team was announced on Thursday to compete in the annual Goodwill Swimming Championships (featuring Guyana and Suriname), which will be staged at the Marlins Swim Pool, Westmoorings next month. The team was ratified by the Amateur Swimming Association of Trinidad and Tobago (ASATT) on Wednesday, following last week’s national Long Course Championships. According to a press release, “the decision has been taken that all national team members shall all remain under their parental and/or guardian control with regard to accomodation and travel.” But meet organiser Hayden Newallo has took it upon himself to provide relief for swimmers and parents from South Trinidad.
