Trumpet silenced in Germany

TRINIDAD and Tobago’s welterweight boxing champion Floyd Trumpet was yesterday silenced in his bid for the World Boxing Federation super welterweight crown. Trumpet, nicknamed the “Fighting Postman” was stopped in the eight-round by Hungary’s Mihaly’s Kotai in Germany. By virue of the defeat, Trumpet now has two losses in 17 fights with three draws. Kotai has moved to 29-1. Yesterday, international matchmaker Buxo Potts said that all is not lost for Trumpet who has lined up two fights in the near future and could get another crack at the championship shortly.
