Busy schedule for Chef de Mission Lewis
Brian Lewis has been nominated to replace Larry Romany as Chef de Mission of the Trinidad and Tobago contingent to the upcoming Olympic Games in Athens, Greece. Romany has withdrawn because of business commitments. Lewis is the assistant Secretary General of the Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee, and chairman of the TTOC Olympic Academy Education Committee which successfully led the development and implementation of TTOC’s annual Olympic Youth Camps.
He was appointed to the PASO Commission of Olympic Academies at the recent PASO General Assembly in San Antonio, Texas. The Commission support and further the work of Olympic education initiatives throughout the Caribbean, North, South and Central America. It is headed by Guatemalan National Olympic Committee President Dr Fernando Beltranena Valladares. Fellow board members are from Costa Rica, Dominica, Chile, Argentina, Mexico, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Peru and the Dominican Republic. “It is an honour and privilege for me to serve on this PASO Commission in the furtherance of Olympism, the Olympic ideals and Olympic education” says Lewis. His new appointment as Chef de Mission will make Lewis extremely busy in Athens as the Commission is set to meet there during the Games.
