Petrotrin stay unbeaten in South
PETROTRIN continued their unbeaten path through the Petrotrin-sponsored Southern Football Association Premier League with a 3-0 shutout of Rangers at their Guaracara Park, Pointe-a-Pierre, home ground. Clint Jagroop, Glendon Reece and Enrique Walker scored a goal each in Wednesday’s game for the “oilmen” to keep their unblemished record. But Point Fortin Civic Centre, the “Black City” boys, are keeping up a strong challenge, following their 5-2 drubbing of Palo Seco at Mahaica Oval to trail the leaders on goal-difference. These two teams are a clear seven points ahead of Palo Seco, Police and early leaders Kris Marketing X-Men who have 15 points each.
The X-Men were held to a 1-1 draw by Police at Carat Hill Trace, Barrackpore ground. Ganesh Samaroo netted for the X-Men, while Raymond Roach scored for the lawmen. Earth San Fernando Giants got a goal each from Stephen Byer and Makesi Bostic to shutout Ocean View Samba Boys 2-0 at Skinner Park, San Fernando. And F&E Electrical Diamond United held BEWIL Esperanto Penal All Stars to a 1-1 draw. Ricardo Wright gave Diamond the lead only for Tony Nelson to grab an equaliser for All Stars.
