Barbados new U-9 limited-overs champs
KINGSTON, Jamaica: Barbados skipper Renaldo Parris hit a brilliant 106 in Barbados total of 312 for six wickets at Melbourne yesterday, to lead his team to an 104-run victory over hosts Jamaica and the TCL Group West Indies Under-19 limited overs title. But teammate Neval Grazette missed his century, being left on an unbeaten 96, while Nicholas Squired scored 45.
When Jamaica batted, Xavier Marshall capped a fine allround performance with a brilliant in scoring 114 after taking two for 21, but apart from him and Albert Gopie 31, the rest of the team fell apart and were bowled out for 204. Ruel Brathwaite bowled the Bajan lads to victory taking four wickets for 44 runs, and Javon Searles chipped in with three for 41, while Parris took two for 40.
