Veteran leads Barataria to promotion

Veteran national cricketer Kelvin Williams grabbed 26 wickets during the 2004 season to lead Barataria Ball Players to a complete sweep of titles in the First Division competition in the North Zone. The team won the league title as well as both limited overs competitions. During the entire season they lost just one match.

In the 25-overs knockout tournament, Ball Players reached the finals against Bamboo Raiders but shared the title after rain washed out the match. Overseas player Shane DeSouza was the top batsman, scoring the most runs for the club, while Williams (26 wickets) and skipper Haroun Hosein (25) were the top bowlers. Barataria Ball Players will compete in the North Zone Superleague next season.
