We must collectively target the criminals

THE EDITOR: People still cannot understand that the most effective way to fight crime is to collectively target the criminal minority and that includes all their friends, families and associates who assist them. If in fact most murders are gang related then the public should be informed as to the location, numbers and members of the particular gangs so everyone would be able to observe their rate of extinction from the senseless cycle of killing they have sought to stupidly copy from the American rap and hip-hop gun culture. True Trinidadians and Tobagonians who know, love and live our culture are not so stupid to feel fame is obtained from the spilling of human brains, guts and blood.

People must stop looking to see what the Government and police will do, and start to see for themselves who are the mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters, children, aunts, uncle, grandmothers, grandfathers, cousins, friends, priests, pastors, boyfriends, girlfriends, employers, employees and lawyers of the criminals. In fact not simply only see, but ‘maco properly’ and run their mouths to all of those mentioned above letting them know it is their duty to keep these animals they have dragged up in check and on a tight leash so that they do no harm to innocent individuals. If they kill each other because they are so stupid, well: “One dead and hit on one head!” Hope they rest in peace, since with one less, things will get a little closer to the peaceful lifestyle of the good old days.

People have two choices, tell their criminal kin to mend their ways or tell the Police to come and take them into custody immediately. These actions will surely reduce the crime levels immediately. If however, those who want to continue to benefit directly or indirectly from the ill gotten gains of criminal activity continue to protect the criminals, they are in fact direct and indirect criminals who, as they pretend to be against criminal activity, are the most dangerous of all the criminals. Could it be that here in Trinidad and Tobago there are more direct and indirect criminals blaming the Government and Police for the crime situation than those actually committing the crime? People must decide if they want to create humans or monsters, so what they expose children to by way of the media will be their choice. If the media is allowed to make money at the expense of human values and create monsters then the people must take all the blame.

Too much criminal activity is presented to the children before they can tell right from wrong. If this trend is not stopped now by the people then, to put it nicely, the next generation will be less human than the present one. To put it plainly, the next generation will be worse monsters than the present one. Children must no longer be mentally fed ‘criminal activities’ if people expect to obtain a reduction in criminal activities. People must recall now; “What is joke for schoolboys is death for crapeaud!” Since the only power the Opposition can now exhibit to the detriment of the people is the power to make legitimate governance difficult by opposing everything as a critical success factor as part of their strategy in hoping and wishing to be recalled to power.

It can be seen that by the use of their power even as the Opposition; “power has corrupted them!” People can now understand that they have no other objective in mind but to use any means necessary to sabotage every aspect of Trinidadian and Tobagonian life and culture. People, especially those we see on TV who are only waiting to see what the Government will do, and who choose to blame the Government without doing their part, are no different from the Opposition. People must now choose to be part of the solution and not be like the Opposition, who for their own personal and selfish reasons choose to be a part of the problem. People must accept the responsibility to raise their children with a Trinidadian and Tobagonian life and culture and so must strive to effectively assist the teachers, pastors and priests, doctors and nurses and lawyers and police in their duties as they educate, grow and protect all Trinidadians and Tobagonians.
