CL Financial football at Oval

THE third annual CL Financial Inter-Company Football League will get going tomorrow at the Queen’s Park Oval, Port-of-Spain following the opening ceremony from 11 am. Matches will be contested every Sunday until mid-October with each participating company  engaged in a series of matches leading up to the final. With emphasis in “creating another opportunity for Group companies to interact”, any team unable to field the mandatory 11 members can merge with another, with Healthnet, Colfire and Video Associates combining to form Net Fire Associates.

Home Construction, CLICO, Angostura, ECL, Flavorite, British American and Primera Oilfield Management Services Limited are the other teams competing in the tournament. According to a press release, as far as funding of the league is concerned, each participating company is asked to pay a participation fee, which goes towards overhead costs such as field, equipment, prizes and the opening and closing ceremonies. One of the prizes at stake will be for the team with the most supporters —  a move seeking to encourage co-workers from various companies to attend the matches.
