Jabloteh Under-20s jump ahead

CL FINANCIAL San Juan Jabloteh defeated W Connection 2-0 on Thursday and, as a result, reclaimed the lead from Connection in the Under-20 Division of the T&T Pro League. In front of a sparse crowd at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, Rennie Britto put Jabloteh ahead in the 34th minute, and former Trinidad and Tobago Under-17 striker Andre Alexis added another in the 42nd. The day’s biggest winners were Tobago United, who trounced South West Drillers 5-2 at Shaw Park, Scarborough. Marvin Phillips registered a hat-trick, in the 66th, 84th and stoppage time, with Marvin Wright (27th) and Keon Samuel (90th) chipping in with one apiece. Samuel Garcia (48th) and Darren Alexis (81st) were the goalscorers for Drillers.


Defence Force moved to third spot on the standings after a 4-1 whipping of North East Stars at the Sangre Grande Recreation Ground. Scoring for the Army-Coast Guard combination were Keston Williams (10th), Sean Narcis (40th), Akil Glasgow (64th) and national U-20 midfielder Clevon George (74th) while Kendall Jagdeosingh pulled back one for North East in the 54th. Another national Under-20 player Radanfah Abu Bakr was also on the scoresheet on Thursday as he guided Arima/Morvant Fire to a 2-0 triumph over Starworld Strikers at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima. Abu Bakr found the back of the net in the 86th minute after Cordell Samuel opened the scoring in the 48th.
