Veera has touched our hearts

THE EDITOR: Veera Bhagan, the 16-year-old student from Felicity, captivated many in the national community, myself included, when her academic success was recently highlighted in the national media. Her extraordinary will-power and determination has truly been inspirational and motivational to many of us. In these times when many youths are turning to drugs, alcohol, tobacco and other social vices, such as promiscuity, and even criminal activity, it is refreshing to know that there are young persons in our communities, persons like Veera Bhagan, who in the near future would be able to assume their rightful positions in society, and who would collectively guide our beloved nation out of the abyss into which we now appear to be sinking. Congratulations Veera, keep up the good work. You have touched our hearts and given us renewed hope. The national community has recognised you with an award you most certainly deserve.
