Leo John turns back the years
VETERAN national cricketer Leo John grabbed three wickets for eight runs in a losing effort for Central Over-40 against Preysal, as the 2004 Leo John Over-40 cricket series bowled off at Chaguanas. Preysal scored 143 with Wazard Ali, brother of former Test player Inshan Ali, getting a topscore 41. John bowling his off-spinners grabbed helped restrict the strong Preysal outfit. Central Over-40 in reply were bowled out for 103 with Joel Bristol getting 21 and Balkaran Sagram 17. In another encounter, RLT Touring team defeated D&M McBean by 72 runs in a one-sided affair.
Touring Team made 107, then bowled out the opposition for a meagre 35 runs, with Joseph Carimbocas taking two wickets for three runs, and Y Hosein three for 13. The other two matches involving Lange Park and X-Men and Cedros against Morvant Touring team were both rained out.
