Penal All Stars stun Petrotrin footballers
LOWLY Bewil Esperanto Penal All Stars scored a stunning upset in the Petrotrin-sponsored Southern Football Association Super League, when they edged league leaders Petrotrin 2-1 at Loochoos Road, Penal. Tony Nelson got the double to beat the “oilmen” in Saturday’s match. Courtney Rogers got the consolation goal. On a day of upsets, Barrackpore United dumped Police 2-0 with Kelyn Lynch and Sean Jarvis the goalscorers at Skinner Park.
But Palo Seco made up ground on the leaders with a 5-0 thumping of F&E Electrical Diamond United. Devon Clement scored twice, while Keith Howie, Daren Garcia and an Evans Mahabir own goal did the trick for the winners. And Expediters Ste Madeleine Strikers vacated the bottom of the standings with a 2-0 shut -out of Ocean View Samba Youths. Brent Clarke and Kevin Edwards scored the goals for the winners.
