Bad Customer Service

THE EDITOR: I am a daily user of the Public Bus Service and it has come to my attention that the bus terminal is in a very disturbing state. Firstly, there are pigeons living in the station in vast numbers. On any given day while awaiting the bus one can get pigeon faeces on one’s clothes. It is said pigeon faeces is good luck, but this is over doing it! In addition to the pigeons there are roaches rushing about their own business like the pedestrians. Besides these “unwanted pedestrians” one has to contend with the seating facilities, which are even a waste. They are sticky, filthy and very, I repeat very, uncomfortable. I for one no longer sit on the seats because of their condition.

The once original mint green on the seats has now become moss green. Thirdly, there is the lack of security personnel to keep order when the early morning passengers are scrambling to get on the bus. It is very annoying to be struggling with other passengers to get on the bus. Finally, there is the bus, which is sometimes late. After struggling to get on the bus, you have to stand up. Why doesn’t the administration or head of department or somebody have an extra bus on stand by so that people can have a comfortable ride to their desired destination. I for one believe that the bus terminal needs a thorough “make over” meaning a paint over, new seating arrangements and a visit once every month from a reputable pest control company.
