Baptiste scores 2nd hat-trick for Maple

MAPLE skipper Hyron Browne-Baptiste struck a rich vein of form in his team’s last three matches in the Northern Football Association. After being beaten 6-3 by Defence Force in their first second-round match, “The Government” as Maple are popularly called won their next two matches handsomely. Browne-Baptiste scored seven of his team’s 12 goals, to take his personal tally for the season to 11.

He got one goal in their defeat to Defence Force, with Kevon Crick and Shane Chang getting the others. Then Browne-Baptiste smashed in a hat-trick to lead Maple to a 6-0 drubbing of former arch-rivals Malvern. Kevon Frederick, Brian Fifi and Damian Paul were the other goalscorers. And on Saturday last, Browne-Baptiste wore his scoring boots once more, scoring his second hat-trick in a row for Maple to shut out Maraval Youth Academy 3-0.
