Let’s thank our Maker

THE EDITOR: God has once more spared Trindad from disaster, even though potential disaster swirled and engulfed an area so huge that we could not even be seen by the satelite pictures. How so immense a system could meticulously avoid the land of the Trinity is no accident, or good luck. It was a miracle bestowed on us. There are many who know this, and accept this, and are truly grateful. Me, I would like to add my own deepest thanks to our Maker, and encourge yet others to do the same. The churches may wish officially to offer prayers of thanksgiving to our divine Majesty; and to Mary the Mother of Jesus (whose birthday was September 8) who interceded on our behalf.

Additionally, we certainly need to pray for those who felt the force of the hurricane, including those in our very midst who were flooded. On balance though, Trinidad has yet again been blessed, as our Creator continues to do in so many ways, e.g. the energy resources, outstanding citizens, gifted people, benign weather, etc. It may be a bit presumptuous to say that God is a Trini, but we can certainly be forgiven for believing He loves us immensely. The least we can do is to love Him in return, and thank Him for His endless caring and patience.
