Two held with arms, ammo

TWO men held with a 9mm firearm and 13 rounds of ammunition on Saturday will appear today before an Arima magistrate charged with possession of arms and ammunition. The men, aged 26 and 31 of Sangre Grande and Mayo Village, were intercepted around 3 pm on Saturday driving along Railway Road, Arouca. According to reports, a police patrol saw the men acting suspiciously, stopped the car and found the firearm — a Heckler/Koch pistol and a magazine with 13 rounds of 9mm ammunition. The men, who police believe were on their way to commit a crime when they were stopped, were arrested and charged. PC Rajkumar is investigating.
