Frustrating wait at PoSGH
THE EDITOR: Kindly allow me a space to voice my disgust at the current health crises in this country. As a senior citizen and one who paid taxes all his life, I must say it is most frustrating at times to go to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital. The wait at the dispensary for drugs is too long and sometimes the main medication that one depends upon is either not given or it is finsihed. Another common problem is the attitude of staff at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital.
Also, the sanitary condition at the hospital is totally unacceptable. Bins overflowing with garbage and the foul smell at the casualty department is enough to make one faint. I also think that the hospital could use a general painting over. I am sure this is not part of the Government’s agenda. I am making an appeal to the Honourable Minister of Health to look into these matters. After all it is said “a healthy nation is a wealthy nation.”
