Losses on Play Whe machines
THE EDITOR: As a citizen of Trinidad and Tobago, I must try my best to be a law abiding citizen. In the first six months when I received a Play Whe machine, my daily commision would have been estimated at $600. After the first six-month period, I noticed that my commission dwindled to $300, $200 and now about $100 per day. Out of this income I have to pay a member of staff and taxes. In other words it is no longer profitable to run a Play Whe machine here in Moruga as operated by NLCB and GTEC.
Why should I place my bets on $24 to every $1 when I can get more for my money $30 to every $1. The sad thing about it is that the police, who are the law enforcement agency, for whatever the reason, are doing nothing about it. It is my hope that the authorities would start to do the right thing, investigate those who break the law, not only at Play Whe but all other illegal activities, giving them a serious warning which to start implementing the laws of the land. Should this be done, within 14 days, the police would, once again, win the respect of the law abiding citizens.
