TRINIDAD and Tobago cricketers continue preparation for the 2004 regional limited overs tournament in Guyana next month, with two warm-up matches at the National Cricket Centre (NCC), Balmain, Couva. This was revealed by manager Omar Khan yesterday. He said:  “The guys will be involved in net sessions and physicals all through this week and will play two warm-up matches tomorrow and Sunday at Couva. “The 10 players selected who are here and three reserves will come up against a Select team in the 50 overs encounters.” Khan added: “Barring injury, West Indies players will join the rest of the local players next week.” Four players, Brian Lara, Dwayne Bravo, Mervyn Dillon and Ricardo Powell are currently engaged in ICC Champions Trophy final in England tomorrow.

National cricketers will turn up at 1.30 pm at the NCC today for an extended training session as they bid to win the limited overs trophy for the first time since 1997. Khan said  his team should be motivated after seeing the West Indies’ performance in England at present. West Indies will play England in the final for the ICC Trophy at the Oval, London, tomorrow. “The guys should be motivated after looking at the West Indies team performances currently in England. “This West Indies team has shown great commitment, self-belief and determination and I am of the view that young Bravo has really infused this into the players. “He has added youthful enthusiasm and a positive attitude to the team and now they are all looking different.”
