Presentation crush Chaguanas 15-0

PRESENTATION Chaguanas earned the day’s biggest victory, 15-0 over Chaguanas Senior, in the Central Zone of the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL) yesterday. The fans at Chaguanas Senior School Ground witnessed a convincing display by the reigning zonal champs, with Kevon Lalloo, Marvin Manswell and Jesse Stewart each scoring hat-tricks, while Anthony O’Garro and Dion Lewis netted two goals apiece and further contributions from Anslem Allert and Reon Pegus. Carapichaima remained in second spot, three points behind Presentation, with a 4-0 triumph against Union Claxton Bay at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva —  Brent De Verteuil, Terron Sinaswee, Julien Landeau and Phillip Wellington getting their names on the scoresheet; while Marabella Junior earned their first win at this level, by a 4-1 margin over hosts Tabaquite.

The top-of-the-table clash between East Zone leaders St Augustine and San Juan ended in a 2-2 tie at Bourg Mulatresse. National Under-17 midfielder Shastri Spencer and Lorenzo King were on target for the “Green Machine” while Akil Harry and Troy Lindsay scored for the hosts. Defending champs Arima were held to a 1-1 draw by St George’s at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima with Michael Hospedales on target for “The Dial Dynamos” while Jabari Lander scored for St George’s; Fernando Thomas and Carlyle Mitchell found the back of the net for Hillview as they squeezed past Valencia 2-1, with Nnaka Billingy the lone goalscorer for the hosts; and Barataria whipped the sliding El Dorado 4-3 at Barataria. Jonathan Romain netted a pair for Barataria, with one each from Dennis Williams and Keston Samuel, while Keston Henry, Richard Radix and Dwight Critchlow scored for ‘the Blue Thunder’.
