Connection come from behind
FORMER Trinidad and Tobago defender David Atiba Charles scored an 85th minute equaliser as W Connection twice came from a goal down to draw 2-2 against TT Pro League leaders North East Stars at the Sangre Grande Recreation Ground on Sunday. In the day’s other contest, South West Drillers and Starworld Strikers also battled to a 2-2 tie at the Palo Seco Recreation Ground. Striker Kendall Jagdeosingh, one of the top performers in the Under-20 Division, put North East ahead after only seven minutes of play before Brazilian midfielder Luciano Viera levelled the scores in the 74th.
Keryn Navarro restored North East’s lead in the 80th but, five minutes later, Charles got on the scoresheet as both teams earned a share of the points. Drillers, who have struggled to find their footing this season, gained a 29th minute lead through Andre Logan but ex-national striker Peter Prosper knotted up the scores in the 66th. Kester Cornwall gave Starworld the go-ahead goal in the 87th but Anderson Lewis netted the match-saving equaliser in stoppage time.
