Injured Sam may miss matches
LONDON: Trinidad and Tobago international Hector Sam could miss the next few matches for his English League One club Wrexham after sustaining a knee injury in a 0-0 draw against Doncaster last weekend. The injury to Sam, who has netted four times in 10 matches for the Welsh club, has left manager Denis Smith in a state of panic as he says he could be without any fit senior strikers for upcoming fixtures.
“Hector has damaged his knee, but we don’t know to what extent at the moment,” Smith explained. He added: “Hopefully, it’s not too bad because if it is we’ll have to come up with another system. I’ve only got two strikers and both have got injured.” Chris Armstrong, Wrexham’s other striker, has missed the last three matches with an Achilles problem.
