Lehigh basketballers arrive in TT tomorrow

NATIONAL Collegiate Athletic Association Division One college Lehigh of Pennsylvania will make a historic four-day tour of Trinidad as guests of the National Basketball Federation of Trinidad and Tobago. And during their stay, they will play three matches against club teams and a national squad. Apart from this, coaches of Lehigh University will conduct a clinic at Maloney Indoor Arena on Saturday for aspiring basketballers between ages eight to 20 from 2 pm.

Lehigh will take on Southerners Petrojazz in their first fixture on Friday at the Pleasantville Indoor Arena from 8 pm. Prior to this match, there will be a veterans North against South match timed to tip-off at 6 pm. On Saturday, the action moves to the Maloney Indoor Arena where there will be a Millennium Basketball Academy clinic from noon and one for young basketballers from 2 pm. This will be followed by a women’s match between Maloney Pacers and a team to be announced from 6 pm. And in the feature attraction, Lehigh take on Maloney Pacers from 8 pm. Lehigh will tackle a Trinidad and Tobago team from 11.30 pm on Sunday at the University of the West Indies Sport and Physical Education Centre, St Augustine.
