Clean up your house, Mr PM
THE EDITOR: Sir, I would like to commend Mr Manning for his speech to the United Nations general assembly in which he condemned crimes against humanity and all other forms of terrorism. Mr Manning also urged the rest of the world’s leaders to reaffirm their commitment to the United Nations and to join in the fight against injustice, inequality, inequity and intolerance. Mr Manning’s speech was indeed commendable. However, I would like to remind Mr Manning to practise what he preached to the UN assembly.
I hope that Mr Manning and his government treat the people of TT with transparency in all their dealings and should condemn racism in any form. Mr Manning should also disassociate himself from any terrorist group(s) in the country. I believe that people should be free to voice their opinion without fear of their life or victimisation. Mr Manning must see that we the people of TT are a true example to the world in democracy. Mr Manning must clean up “his house” first — to lead the way. Thank you sir and may the good Lord bless you richly.
