Squatter problem at La Paille

THE EDITOR: I am asking you to investigate a situation that is causing concern with the residents of La Paille squatting village. Mr Minister, I am a resident of this area, and one villager whose home was broken down by officials of NHA is causing lots of problems for the rest of the community. This house was built on an illegal plot, the gentleman and his wife refused to move to the plot given to them by the NHA. Our MP Mr Manohar Ramsaran has been working with us. Through him we got the roads paved, and water connected.

Also, a staff member is working with us. We are thankful to Mr Ramsaran and you Mr Minister for what was done so far, still there is much to be done. But this gentleman has now called in Mr Ramesh L Maharaj in the village and this is causing problems for us. He is accusing Mr Ramsaran and you for not doing anything in La Paille. He even says that Mr Ramsaran is a waste of time and that you don’t care about poor people. Mr Rowley, please take some action. I am sure you would know this man from your officers of NHA.
