Cops seize drugs and stolen items

Twenty persons were arrested during a series of searches and raids carried out by officers of the Chaguanas CID on Friday. The exercise started around 2 am and ended at midday. A quantity of drugs and stolen items were also recovered. Reports revealed that officers led by Inspector Hubert Kirk, executed a search warrant at Warton Road, Longdenville, where they arrested a 31-year-old man and his 23-year-old wife. A quantity of marijuana was seized. Two persons who allegedly broke into the office of the Hindu Credit Union at Endeavour and stole a quantity of tools were also arrested. A 38-year-old man who allegedly stole a quantity of clothing was also arrested. Eleven persons were held on enquiries related to shootings, four others were held for narcotics, one man was held on an outstanding warrant at Maraval. Those arrested will appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate tomorrow.
