Extras push Samba Boys to victory

SAMBA BOYS, benefitting from 33 extras, moved one step closer to retaining their title in the CASAT/Seenath Auto World-sponsored Savannah Boys Windball Cricket League, when they whipped Tunapuna Savannah Boys by four wickets. Tunapuna Savannah Boys had first knock and were bowled out for 70 compiled in their 15 allotted overs, with Narine Samaroo taking three wickets for 123 runs and Kenneth Mohammed two for one.

The defending champions replied with 71 for six wickets, despite Nishal Guyadeen taking two for 13, completing victory in the 12th over. Samba Boys advanced to meet Acids in one semi-final timed to begin at 3.30 pm on Sunday, while Bustin Loose take on Kings in the other match scheduled to start at 1.30 pm. There are also two matches in the Best of the Rest series, with P&B Combined XI taking on Upsetters from 9.30 am, and Maloney playing Block Masters from 11.30 am. Acids easily disposed of Savannah Youths by seven wickets in their quarter-final fixture. After bowling out Savannah Youths for 85, Acids replied with 87 for three wickets led by unbeaten innings of 39 by Arif Abdool and 23 by Rodney Bickram.
