Scarborough, Presentation sight ‘Big 5’

TOBAGO champions Scarborough and Central Zone winners Presentation College will meet at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet in today’s quarter-final of the “Big 5” competition in the Secondary Schools Football League (SSFL). With the St Anthony’s ‘‘Tigers” out of contention after they failed in their bid to retain the North Zone crown, both Scarborough and Presentation will be battling for a right to face South title-holders Naparima in the second semi-final on Wednesday.

Meanwhile four rescheduled matches, in the North, East and South Zones will also be played today. East Zone winners, the “Green Machine” St Augustine will square off against Barataria at the Barataria Ground while, in the South Zone, the bottom-two teams Vessigny and Pleasantville will meet at Pleasantville. In the North, the “Tigers” will host reigning Zonal winners Mucurapo, while QRC will entertain Morvant/Laventille to their home ground at St Clair. All matches kick off at 3.45 pm.
