Baboolal bowls Samba Boys to windball final

A DEVASTATING bowling spell by Dave Baboolal swept Samba Boys into the final of the Savannah Boys Windball Cricket League to defend their title on Sunday. They will meet Kings, who whipped Bustin Loose by three wickets in the other semi-final on Sunday last. The Samba Boys were in trouble on 59 for six wickets against Acids, but stubborn batting in the later order by Kenneth Mohammed who scored 16 runs and Narine Samaroo nine not out, saw the defending champions to 96 all out. But facing a seemingly modest total, Acids were bowled out for 49 leaving Samba Boys victors by 47 runs, with Baboolal claiming six wickets for 10 runs off only three overs.

In Sunday’s other semi-final, Bustin Loose reached a formidable 111 for seven wickets in their 15 overs with extras contributing a healthy 37 runs. But 13 proved a lucky number for Kings, with four of their batsmen reaching that figure as they raced to 112 for seven wickets with three balls to spare. Acids will now meet Bustin Loose in the third place play-off. P&B Combined XI and Block Masters will meet in the Best of the Rest final. P&B Combined beat Upsetters by seven wickets and Block Masters won by 88 runs over Maloney.
