$2,000 a month to buy $175,000 house

THE EDITOR: I am convinced now more than ever that this government does not like poor people. Their claim of building houses for the poor is just ole talk which they are best known for. Can you imagine that they expect families with a monthly income of $2,000 to purchase a house for $175,000?  This is the case with the houses in the Tarouba area.

Applicants are required to have a minimum down payment of $20,000 and they have 25 years to pay for these units. Where do they expect these people to get that down payment?  How do they expect them to pay an $800 a month installment when they can barely sustain their families? Some of these people will take the rest of lives to pay for these houses which may fall apart before they actually own them, given the fact that these houses do not have a strong foundation.
