Sugar Mike enjoys ground conditions

Sugar Mike produced one of the better gallops on the exercise course at Santa Rosa Park, Arima where trainers continue to take things relatively easy with their runners yesterday morning. The champion sprinter and stayer of last year seemed to relish the wet/fast conditions from overnight rain and was seen asking for his head in the spin over 600 metres in 39.29 seconds.

Noble Man who appeared just after the course was opened at 5.30 am was the first to show a liking to the binding sand. The Patrick De Freitas inmate increased his speed from the 800 metres marker in the backstretch and maintained steady clips of 13 to complete his performance in 52.46 seconds. Squee Zintru, and Kavita Nadira and Crackshot were others to have done something of note. Squee Zintru, which shifted from champion trainer John O’Brien camp to Stephen Jardim  through the claiming system recently stretched his legs over 1000 metres in 1:08.92 seconds, where Kavita Nadira and Crackshot stepped in 1:05.90.
