St Clair’s trounce Phoenix 7-1
ST CLAIR’S Coaching School moved one step closer toward the unprecedented double in the Warner’s Group of Companies-sponsored Tobago Football League Premier League, after they hammered Angostura 1976 FC Phoenix 7-1 at Shaw Park, Tobago. Victory in Wednesday’s re-scheduled match sent Coaching School, already winners of the Pepsi FA Cup, to within one point of leaders Charlotteville Unifiers. And the top teams meet on Sunday with Charlotteville holding “home” advantage, in a match which could decide the league title. Kirch Spencer, Deon Orr and Bert Burris who returned from a stint aboard, all scored two goals each, while Tyrone Walters got the other for Coaching School. Dave Grimshaw got the consolation. In a battle of the bottom clubs, Mason Hall Police Youth Club edged Georgia FC 2-1 on second half goals by Kenneth Ottley and Keldon Barker, after Shey Jerry gave the losers the lead at half time.
