Strange kind of ‘fun’
The Editor: I am drawing the attention of the Minister of National Security and the Commissioner of Police to an incident that occurred involving my 16-year old son. He travelled by taxi on the Diego Martin Main Road one day last week on his way to spend the night with his aunt in Diamond Vale. He alighted around 6 pm at the corner of the Wendy Fitzwilliam Blvd where the West End Police Station stands. As he walked past the station’s gate he was attacked by three ferocious pothound dogs that rushed out from the Police compound and attempted to bite him. Fortunately for him he is not afraid of dogs and kicked one firmly in the head, which caused it to run back into the station compound.
The other two dogs continued to bark at him but he stood his ground and they too ran back into the station. He is convinced that the dogs live on the compound and described the West End policemen as “wicked people” who get their fun “sooking” the dogs on passersby. Are our police for real? Do we really have to put up with this cruel behaviour? What if my son was not accustomed to handling dogs? He would have been thoroughly mauled by these ferocious dogs. Sooner or later somebody is going to take the law into their own hands and deal with the police.
