Mason Hall youths avoid relegation
MASON HALL Police Youth Club dashed the last hopes of Charlotteville Unifiers, holding their highly fancied opponents to a 4-4 draw in their final match in this year’s Warner’s Group of Companies-sponsored Tobago Football Association Premier League. And the point gained from Wednesday’s fixture at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, Bacolet, Tobago, lifted the Mason Hall youths out of the relegation zone. In a robust match which saw three players being ordered off, Ardian Holder scored a rare hat-trick for Mason Hall, all from the penalty spot, with Keldon Baker getting the other goal. Jason McKenna, Kervin McKenna, Kevon Martin and league leading goalscorer Duane Murray with his 20th goal, netted for Unifiers. Despite going down 1-0 to Pepsi Hills United later at the Dwight Yorke Stadium, St Clair’s Coaching School will add the league title and $25,000 prize money to the $12,000 they already won for capturing the Pepsi FA Cup.
Fielding a reserve team, Coaching School were beaten by an 82nd minute goal by Liston Winchester. Bethel United and Sidey’s played to a 0-0 draw at Mt Gomery, and Hope Village Milan and Georgia FC drew 1-1 at the stadium’s training ground. Now Milan and George must meet the runners-up in the Conference play-offs to determine which of the two are relegated. Winners of the Conference play-off will be automatically promoted to the Premier League. To date, Sea Level Goal City have won and drawn their two matches, beating Leeds United 5-1 on a hat-trick from Akini Ferguson and other goals from Kasron Quashie and Keon George. Harvey Williams got the loner. And later they drew 1-1 with Stag Bethel Uprising with Ferguson again the scorer. Kervon Duncan equalised with an 89th minute penalty. Roxborough Lakers whipped Golden Lane 3-1 on a hat-trick from Dyke Reid. The other team contesting the play-offs is Earlbrokes.
