killer car impounded

POLICE yesterday continued their investigations into an incident  where a driver ploughed his car into two men, whom he believed had robbed him. On instructions from the DPP, police released the 32-year-old driver on Thursday. The DPP returned the file to the investigators, ordering them to conduct further investigations and gather additional evidence.

“We are not sure how this thing (incident) will swing but investigations are continuing,” a senior officer told Sunday Newsday. The driver, a rigger, of Tarouba Main Road, San Fernando, told police he knocked down the two men, after they robbed him of his money and threw his car keys into a river. He said he used a tool to start the car. Ag Cpl Steve Persad of the Gasparillo Police Station is continuing investigations.
