Mucurapo, St Anthony’s in N/Zone final
MUCURAPO and the “West-moorings Tigers” St Anthony’s will meet on Tuesday, at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo, in the North Zone final of the RBTT Intercol competition. The “Tigers” earned a narrow come-from-behind 3-2 win over Malick in the first match of yesterday’s double-header while Mu-curapo roasted Fatima 7-3. Trinidad and Tobago Under-17 striker Lester Peltier opened the scoring for St Anthony’s in the 66th minute before Malick responded with two goals, from Selwyn Victor in the 75th and Hayden Tinto in the 80th. But the match did not end there, as St Anthony’s defender Yohance Marshall got the equaliser in the 82nd while another veteran player, national Under-20 midfielder Kevon Neaves, netted the winner in stoppage time.
Mucurapo got two quick goals from Richard Roy (13th) and national Under-17 defender Khaleem Hyland (16th) before Fatima pulled one back from the penalty spot courtesy Emmanuel Joseph (29th). The “Big 5” finalists widened their lead to 5-1 at the half-time interval, with strikes from Keshawn Hunte (30th), Nigel Arthur (41st) and Atullah Guerra (44th). Fatima did not “lie down and die,” and got a pair from Makesi Lewis (73rd) and Stefan St Louis (76th) but substitute Sherwon Jack sealed the win for Mucurapo with items in the 81st and 90th. The first zonal final will be contested in the East Zone from 4 pm today with “Big 5” champs St Augustine opposing San Juan at the Larry Gomes Stadium, Arima.
