Fyzabad crowned South Intercol champs

FYZABAD earned their first major piece of football silverware in recent times yesterday, when they pipped Vessigny 1-0 at the Manny Ramjohn Stadium, Marabella. Yesterday’s victory gave Fyzabad the RBTT South Intercol title. The match featured end to end action under humid conditions, but midfielder Bevon Bass got the evening’s lone goal in the 70th minute. The Central Zonal trophy will be decided tomorrow with 2003 winners Presentation opposing Carapichaima at the Ato Boldon Stadium, Couva. On Tuesday, the St Anthony’s “Westmoorings Tigers” will face-off against Mucurapo at the Hasely Crawford Stadium, Mucurapo for the North version while, in the sister isle Tobago, Signal Hill will be defending their title against Scarborough. All matches are scheduled to begin at 4 pm.
