Man killed over ‘jealousy’
A FEBEAU Village, Laventille Road, San Juan man was shot on Friday night and died yesterday morning because of what his mother called “Red Eye” (jealousy). “These people ‘red eyed’ my son for what I do not know and that was the reason he was killed,” Janet Alexander said of her son Adie Alexander’s death. “They were jealous that he and his brother was not put in charge of a house.” Further explaining Janet Alexander said: “Some years ago a relative migrated and left Adie and his brother in charge of a house, this apparently angered certain people who became jealous. “On the morning of his death one of the relatives who lived there at one time attempted to burn down the house, when she was stopped by my daughter Shala Alexander, she threatened to send three men later that night and kill Adie.
“A few hours later my son was dead at the hands of people from right in the area,” the distraught mother stated. According to reports, around 11 pm Adie Alexander, 26, alias “Yami Bolo” of LP 57, Boot Hill, Febeau Village, San Juan was liming along Laventille Road, with some friends a short distance from his home when three masked men walked up and started shooting. Alexander was shot several times about the body, while his friends escaped. Alexander, father of a three-year-old child, was rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Complex where despite an emergency operation, he died around 7.30 am yesterday.
Although, his distressed mother continues to suffer over the loss of her son, she is not seeking revenge or justice. “I leave justice in the hands of Jah,” the Rastafarian woman said. “Jah will deal with the men who killed my son and they will get what is coming to them.” The mother said that she intends to have no wake because Alexander would have wanted no “Red Eye” or hypocrite coming to his home. Alexander will be buried on Wednesday evening at the San Juan Public Cemetery following a service at the Janels Funeral Home Chapel.
